Bio

Hi! My name is Stephanie Loera and my pronouns are she/her/hers. I am visually impaired and deal with an autoimmune disease that makes mobility difficult. I wear multiple identities with pride, like being Latinx and queer. I am also a first generation student with a single parent, low-income background. These identities give me the ability to empathize and understand the dreams our community has. I oversee the committee's social media along with other members from my team. I am majoring in Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies with the hope to bring about change with this unique perspective. Driven by my passion for social justice, I hope to uplift the voices of the Davis Disabled community while providing an intersectional emphasis on all committee matters and events. When I am not keeping busy with DRAC, you can find me working in my major’s department as a peer advisor. And if I’m not there, I’m wandering this wonderful city trying to find the perfect cup of coffee to drink while I indulge in my favorite pastime of reading for hours on end. I am so happy to be part of this team and I know we’re going to achieve great things.
